Los Angeles Unified School District
involves Project management, Telecommunications and Network
Engineering. IIT is helping LAUSD with multiple projects where IITís
consultants are liaison between LAUSD management and Safety and
Technology Contractors. IITís consultants are responsible for
construction site visits and prepare deficiency reports related to
voice and data systems including fiber, cable, routers, electricals,
intrusion alarm systems, fire systems. IITís consultants also help
their Information Technology Department with various projects
involving token ring, construction site management to name a few.
State of California - Health and Human Service Data Center
This project involves assisting HHSDC in Case Management
Information and Payroll System with the following:
Finalizing the RFP
the formal procurement process
Developing approach, processes and tools for evaluating vendor
∑ Preparing the Feasibility Study Report /Implementation Advanced
Monitoring the prime contactor's performance during CMIPS II design,
development, and implementation.
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power
This project involves working on the LADWP intranet using
DreamWeaver and Cold fusion. Content Management is also implemented.
Southern California Edison
IIT has been providing Project Management, Development,
Design and Support Services to Southern California Edison for
various projects including Billing and Payment Systems, Project
Management Systems, Workflow applications to name a few. IIT used
Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite for providing these
services. IIT has also developed on-line training to support its
Project Management System and various Business Processes.
IIT has used a combination of on-site, off-site and offshore
capabilities for developing the systems and training. Some of the
projects where IIT is either providing Project management Services
or related Project management training are still on going. All
projects in the past have been very successful, appreciated, on time
and on budget.
IIT has also been helping SCE with Cost-benefit analysis,
budgeting, planning, scheduling and tracking of the various
IIT has been involved with Analysis, Design, Development,
Testing, and Integration of Planview on-line training using Flash.
IIT has also helped with Business Case and IT Policies and Procedure
IIT was invited by Edison Enterprises to assist with IT
Project Management, Requirements and Recommendations and to develop
a custom package for a new service called "Integrated Energy
Outsourcing" that Edison started offering to their clients. Edison
Enterprises had tried for about 3 months to try to develop that
package in house, but with no success. This service included
collecting utility data, analyzing it, computing baseline values for
processing and paying utility bills for many Superstores and
charging them only a fixed baseline amount per month. They had
already started providing the service and were expecting the first
set of bills to be processed by the system in the next 3 weeks, but
did not have a system to support that. IIT was invited to provide a
solution to their problem, expecting a miracle in the next 3 weeks
from them. IIT was actually able to perform the miracle and put
together the very initial basic data driven, completely flexible
system to actually process the first set of bills through it, in the
3 weeks. This led to a very ambitious project and a very complex
system was eventually built with interfaces to Accounting system and
capabilities of calculating baselines via very complex algorithms,
validations of amounts against baselines, KWH and $ analysis etc.
Impressed by the immense success of this project, many other
projects were awarded to IIT by Edison Enterprises. IIT was involved
in the Project management, cost benefit analysis, budgeting,
planning, scheduling, tracking, training, development,
implementation and systems integration of multiple projects as
depicted in the following diagram. This diagram was used to provide
a high level color coded status to the executive management, to
facilitate at a glance status reporting for the multiple projects
that IIT was involved in.
IIT was involved with requirements, research and evaluation,
for developing a Data Warehouse. It involved coordination with
various service providers like Microstatrgy, Business Objects, Brio
etc to evaluate the best reporting tool for Edison.
IIT was involved in SQL Server Database Administration and
development for Peregrine Systems Remedy. This involved day to day
support activities and development using SQL or stored procedures to
pull data out of Remedy database.
This project involved Project Management of a custom
development project for a loan origination system.
FMAC had many failed implementations for their Loan
Origination process automation including custom package development
and off-the-shelf package implementations, when they invited IIT to
help them with their Project Management, Requirement gathering and
Recommendation process through Joint Application Design sessions and
to design and develop a custom package to automate their Loan
Origination process. The project was completed within budget and on
schedule and is a great success. IIT carried out this effort with
multiple user interviews at their offices all over US and used its
proprietary Ingenious methodology and Project Management tool Ė
Ingenious Project Manager to manage the entire process.
IIT also used Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office for its
Project Management activities. IIT was also involved in Training the
users on the developed application and the technologies used. The
collected data and developed applications needed to be merged
together and needed to interact with other applications to result in
a fully automated system. IIT accomplished this with a combination
of on-site, off-site and offshore capabilities. The main cause of
the success of this project was IITís excellent Project Management
capabilities. IIT also helped FMAC with Cost-benefit analysis,
budgeting, planning, scheduling and tracking of the project.
IIT also supplied various IT resources to FMAC including SQL
Server DBA, web developer and database developers.
1StopMD (company has gone out of business now)
This project involved planning design, implementation and
administration of a combination of Unix and Windows servers. This
project involved planning, design and implementation services for
daily Exchange operational support. This also design and
implementation of Networking among companies various offices using
Cisco routers. It also included Network integration, network
security, monitoring, documentation and administration. Messaging
programming was done including Outlook/Exchange. Scope of work also
included configuring and maintaining all the Dell desktops and
laptops for the company.
Kalkan Foods Inc./Mars Inc.
This project involved day to day Oracle Database
Administration, requirements, design and development of Data
warehouse, setting up universes and developing reports using
Business Objects, configuration and administration of Business
Objects, requirements, design and development of interfaces with
PeopleSoft Human Resources and Payroll, pulling PeopleSoft data into
the data warehouse. This also involved coding with PL/SQL. Reports
were also generated using Crystal Reports and SQR.
